National Eye Institute - Diversity in Vision Research and Ophthalmology (DIVRO) Program

DIVRO offers participants the opportunity to work closely with leading NEI scientists. Training typically begins in May or June of the selection year for 8-12 weeks on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD. Students are provided a monthly stipend that is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Click here for more information.

Houston Methodist Research Institute - Summer Intern Program

Houston Methodist offers a 10-week summer student program for college undergraduates and medical students. The program matches students with faculty mentors in laboratories and focuses on a single research project. NASA - Student Airborne Research Program (SARP)

The NASA Airborne Science Program invites highly motivated advanced undergraduates who will be rising seniors in summer 2017 to apply for participation in the 9th annual NASA Student Airborne Research Program (SARP).  The purpose of this Program is to provide students with hands-on research experience in all aspects of a major scientific campaign, from detailed planning on how to achieve mission objectives to formal presentation of results and conclusions to peers and others. Stanford University - Center for the Study of Language and Information Summer Internship Program

At the Center for the Study of Language and Information, interns will work closely with a faculty, postdoc, or grad student mentor on an original cognitive science research project. The topical focus of the program will be on language, learning, computation, and cognition, with an emphasis on giving students the skills they need to complete an independent project. Mentors will be from cognitive science departments across Stanford, including psychology, linguistics, computer science, and philosophy. For more information and to apply, click here.

UC San Diego - American Heart Association Summer Undergraduate Fellowships

The American Heart Association Summer Undergraduate Fellowships will enable students to participate in an intensive 10-week research experience at UC San Diego. In addition to working closely with faculty members on cutting-edge research projects, the students will participate in a number of professional development activities and will present their research at the Summer Research Conference at UC San Diego. Students will receive a $4,000 stipend; a limited number of travel and living subsidies are available. Click here for more information.
